The 2019 Miau Malbec is a product of 4 Gatos Locos – a passion project by Chakana wines. The grapes are sourced from their vineyard in Gualtallary, one of the most coveted growing regions in the Uco Valley. The unique terroir, high elevation, steep slopes, and extended sunlight here create some of the best wines of Argentina.
4 Gatos Locos was created by the winemaker, viticulturist, and founders of Chakana. At the heart of the project is winemaker Gabriel Bloise. His experience spans the globe, including key harvests in Tuscany, California, Priorat, and Australia. In the words of critic Tim Atkin, Bloise's already-phenomal wines get “better with every vintage.”
Medium-bodied and elegant, the wine opens with aromas of red cherry and violets. Flavors of dark plum and earth are balanced by round well-integrated tannins.
"This is the entry-level wine of Cuatro Gatos Locos and it's 100% malbec from the Gualtallary zone, a high-altitude location more than 1,300 meters above sea level in the Uco Valley. It has the succulence and voluptuousness of a Gualtallary Malbec, with the exuberant flavors of red fruits and violets in a pleasing body with round and juicy tannins. A wine for grilled meat—the perfect match.” – 92 Points, Descorchados
