Originally hailing from southern France, the Viognier grape may not be as well known as Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay, but it has made a mark with its intensely floral and spicy characteristics along with its full-bodied palate. What's more, these wines often make for incredible values. This sustainable Viognier from an almost ninety-year-old winemaking cooperative (Costieres de Pomerol) in Languedoc-Roussillon offers ripe melon, apricot, and white flower aromas that are joined by honeysuckle, lychee, lemon zest, and fenugreek spices on the palate. Hints of oak lead into a long, spicy finish.
